The 2nd Seminar on Physical AI in Construction
The Project Research "Architectural WLC Research" of the Research Institute for Science and Engineering, Waseda University, together with the Research Institute of Architecture, will hold the following seminar.
Admission is free, and the seminar will be held both in person and online. We warmly welcome your participation.
The 2nd Seminar on Physical AI in Construction
In Japan, labor shortages caused by a declining workforce are becoming increasingly serious. The construction sector in particular is being called upon to adopt new technologies that improve productivity and safety. Among these, "Physical AI", in which AI perceives and makes judgments about the real world and acts in coordination with robots and digital technologies, is attracting attention as a key technology for the next generation of construction.
This seminar is part of a series that broadly discusses the potential and future of Physical AI in the construction sector, and it invites researchers and experts active in Japan and abroad. The 2nd seminar centers on Physical AI and also covers other advanced technologies, including digital twins, digital spatio-temporal intelligence and construction DX (digital transformation). Researchers and experts from the United Kingdom, South Korea, Spain and Japan will share their latest research findings and practical case studies, and the seminar will discuss how these technologies will change productivity, safety, construction and maintenance in the construction industry. Through this seminar, we hope to consider what the construction of the future should look like and to open the way to new international joint research and industry–academia collaboration.
