Yasushi HORIBE
Born in 1967 in Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture. Graduated in 1990 from the Environmental Design Course, School of Art and Design, University of Tsukuba. From 1991 to 1994, studied under Yoshihiro Mashiko at Mashiko Atelier. Established Yasushi Horibe Architect & Associates in 1994. In 2002, received the 18th Yoshioka Prize for "Gallery in Ushiku." In 2016, received the Architectural Institute of Japan Prize (for a work) for "Chikurin-ji Ossuary." In 2021, received the 2020 Mainichi Design Award. Professor at the Graduate School of Kyoto University of the Arts from 2007 to 2024. Professor at the Open University of Japan since 2022.
